My Brothers and Sisters in the Faith who are fighting the good fight, greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our hope and confidence are in him. And our hope will never disappoint us.
Each of us have experienced interruption, change, and transition in Ministry like never before. But Jesus is still Lord and He is the One who is guiding us through this season of turbulence. I am certain that I speak for each of you when I say that it is extremely beneficial to know that Jesus is the Captain of the ship. I love the stories in the scriptures that highlight Jesus in times of storms. I like the passage in Matthew Chapter 8 where it speaks of Jesus sleeping when the disciples were in a panic. I am convinced that the Lord was not unconcerned but rather He was unafraid. When we trust in the Lord His peace becomes our experience. His authority takes care of our circumstances. His mission overcomes our interruptions. So, my brother and sisters I would encourage you at this time to remain strong in your Captain and know that even though there is a storm on our journey we are going to get to the other side.
The command of our Lord is not conditional based on our circumstances. Throughout Jesus’ ministry He was proclaiming the kingdom of God and the power thereof, whether He was loved or hated, questioned, or challenged. Even at the point of His arrest and trial, His message never stopped. Neither must ours.
Each of us are in our own unique situations and my response in Indiana may not be the same as your response in Ohio, Michigan, Florida or wherever. But even though our responses may be different, our mission is still the same because the Spirit of the Lord is upon us because He has anointed us, “to preach the gospel to the poor… to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-20) Live out your calling. Live in freedom. Live in Faith. Live in confidence. We have been called and chosen to do no less.
Jesus Christ is Lord of All,
