The Church Engaged
Current events give us the opportunity to declare God’s Word of Truth to the times in which we live. The events often give us revelation into the spiritual warfare that is raging.
There is an ongoing attack against Christianity. This should not surprise us because Jesus said that “if the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.” (John 15:18) Many in our own Country want to silence the Church and make her ineffective and powerless. That’s why we are told to keep our religious ideas inside the four walls of a building. The world can tolerate a religion that is only words and an empty shell, but it cannot control a church that is alive and moving with resurrection power and influencing the culture around her.
The Church must stand up and not be silent. We cannot sit idly by as millions upon millions of innocent babies are aborted out of the need of convenience, pride and profit. Some steps have been made in the right direction by shutting down abortion mills and exposing doctors, but the war is still on!
We must speak out against the indoctrination of our children and youth concerning the perverse sexual orientation agenda. Just today in Texas a father has, at least temporarily, saved his 7-year-old sone from forced “sexual transition” from a boy to a girl. The LGBTQ has tried to silence Christians by making us appear to be intolerant and bullies when, in fact, that is exactly what they are doing. They have gone to war against Franklin Graham, Chick-Fil-A, the Bible and anything or anyone who stands in the way of their demonic agenda. The sanctity of a marriage between a man and a woman is worth fighting for. Businesses have been forced to close. Freedoms of speech and religion have been denied. All of the radicals that demand their way or else they will usher in chaos. We must stand strong and united. We must not compromise, while at the same time live with compassion for all.
We are called to love and share the truth of God’s Word. It is not loving to hide the Truth to protect some from the reality of it. The lives of our youth are at stake. Yes, we must love and be loving, but continue to proclaim the Good News to a lost and dying world. The most loving thing we can do is to let others know of God’s plan and that Jesus is still the Way, the Truth and the Life! Trying to save those who are being led astray is still the call of God to the Church. It is a dangerous but rewarding challenge. And we can be a part of this End-Time work.
The spiritual warfare is incredibly clear. The enemy (the accuser) is working overtime to bring down our nation and the world. But in this darkness the light still shines – and shines brightly. We must move with love, wisdom and strength. Now is the day for Spirit filled people to not just talk but to walk (Galatians 5:25). We have been chosen to lead with
uncompromising love and truth. The two united will enable us to accomplish our assignment!
